Editorial Rating

Tile Makeover Story closes a satisfying double loop: flawless tap controls and true connect-two rules were verified on device, and every cleared board pays stars that visibly repair the house — the fireplace relit for a single star, one of seven room tasks. The divorce-and-rebuild story gives the boards a reason to exist. It loses points for an intermittent stall at 99.99% loading caused by a missing room asset, though the load recovered on its own.

Overview

Part tile puzzle, part home-rescue story. After a marriage falls apart, a mother and her daughter, dog in tow, move into a snowbound and half-ruined house, and every board you clear pays for its repair. Play classic connect-two tile levels to earn stars, then spend them on a checklist of renovations: the first star relights the fireplace, with six more tasks waiting in that room alone.

Objective and input

How to Play

Each level shows a board of illustrated tiles, such as the thirty-two food icons of level two. Tap one tile, then tap its identical partner: if a line can join them with no more than three straight segments, the pair vanishes. Clearing the board awards stars, and back at the house you trade a star for the next repair on the room's checklist. One star relit the fireplace in our session, moving the tally to one of seven. Boosters labelled Bomb, Refresh and Hint sit beside the board for stuck moments.

Desktop Controls

Click a tile with the mouse, then click the matching tile; valid pairs clear when a path of three or fewer straight segments connects them.

Mobile Controls

Tap a tile, then tap its identical partner to try a match.

Valid pairs vanish if the connecting line bends at most twice.

Tap the Bomb, Refresh or Hint icons when the board stalls.

What stands out

Features

01

A makeover with a reason

The renovation checklist belongs to a mother and daughter starting over after a divorce, which gives every cleared board a visible payoff inside the house.

02

True connect-two rules

Pairs only clear when a route of three straight segments or fewer links them, so order and edge play matter more than speed.

03

Stars buy progress

Each finished board pays stars, and the first room alone lists seven repairs; the fireplace was fixed for a single star.

04

Boards that shift

Later levels slide leftover tiles in different directions after each clear and add fire and locked tiles, with extra rooms waiting beyond the first.

Gameplay Tips

  1. 1

Work from the edges inward: outside tiles find routes for the connecting line more easily than buried center pairs.

  2. 2

Save the Bomb and Refresh boosters for boards where no legal pair remains rather than spending them early.

  3. 3

Check the room checklist between levels so stars go toward repairs instead of piling up unused.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What are stars used for?

Stars are the renovation currency. Clearing a tile board earns them, and each repair on a room's checklist costs one or more; relighting the fireplace cost a single star.

How do tiles clear?

Tap two identical tiles; they vanish only if a line with no more than two bends can connect them without crossing other tiles.

What do Bomb, Refresh and Hint do?

They are booster buttons beside the board. They were visible but not exercised in testing, so treat them as optional help when a board stalls.

Is there more than one room to fix?

Yes. The first room lists seven repairs, and the game's data covers a sequence of additional rooms beyond it.
