Editorial Rating

Difference Detective Quest executes its one idea cleanly: five tells per scene, twin green circles on confirmed finds, and a five-second penalty that makes guessing expensive. Level 1 was cleared on device in 75.5 seconds for three stars, and the four theme tabs with 150-star tracks give score chasers a meta loop. It loses points for a 20-second average cold start and for pinch zoom and panning that are confirmed in source but were not needed hands-on.

Overview

A portrait picture-hunt built on one clean idea: two near-identical scenes, five hidden changes, one hundred and eighty seconds on the clock. Tap a mismatch and twin green circles bloom on both pictures at that exact spot; stab at empty air and five seconds evaporate from the timer. Finishing fast pays better stars, and our opening level, cleared in about seventy-five seconds, earned all three.

Objective and input

How to Play

A level stacks two versions of the same illustration vertically. Compare details such as colors, shapes and missing objects, then tap any spot that differs; correct finds mark both images with green circles, while wrong taps add a five-second penalty. Find all five before the countdown ends. Stars hinge on remaining time: finishing with over a minute left pays three stars, over thirty seconds pays two. Between levels, a select screen groups stages into theme tabs such as Object, Interior and Landscape, each tracking one hundred and fifty stars, with locked tiles opening as you advance and coins collecting along the way.

Desktop Controls

Click the differing spot on either picture with the mouse; hit and miss feedback mirrors the touch version.

Mobile Controls

Tap the difference on either of the two stacked pictures.

Drag to pan and pinch to zoom when a detail is too small to judge.

Use the magnifier hint if the last difference refuses to surface.

What stands out

Features

01

Five tells per scene

Every level hides exactly five differences, and confirmed finds ring both pictures with green circles so you never re-check solved spots.

02

A clock that bites back

Guessing is expensive: each wrong tap costs five seconds from the hundred-and-eighty-second budget, and star grades depend on time left.

03

Themed galleries

The select screen sorts stages into Object, Interior, Landscape and other tabs, each with a hundred-and-fifty-star progress track and locked levels.

04

Closer looks allowed

A magnifier hint plus drag panning and pinch zoom help inspect fine details when a scene gets dense.

Gameplay Tips

  1. 1

Sweep the pictures in a fixed pattern, corner to corner, instead of darting between areas.

  2. 2

Never spam taps: five seconds per miss is worse than a slow and careful scan.

  3. 3

If three stars matter, zoom early on busy scenes rather than after the timer drops below a minute.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How many differences are in each picture?

Five. The counter tracks your finds, and each correct tap marks the same position on both images with green circles.

What happens if I tap the wrong spot?

A five-second penalty counts against the countdown, so random tapping burns the clock quickly.

How are stars decided?

By remaining time: finishing with more than sixty seconds left earns three stars, more than thirty earns two, and any slower clear earns one.

Can I zoom in on the pictures?

Yes. The scenes support drag panning and pinch zoom, and a magnifier hint is available when a difference stays hidden.
