Pixel Brawl Quest

Editorial Rating

Pixel Brawl Quest delivers a complete run-jump-punch platforming loop with verified touch controls, hit sparks and a full-restart death rule. It loses points for a heavy cold start (the wasm payload is about 12 MB) and for offering little beyond stage one in the tested window.

Overview

A retro pixel-art action platformer that drops you straight into a village threatened by ninja bandits. Hold the arrow pad to run, jump the signposted cliffs, and punch your way into the pine forest. The first stage spans three areas — village, cliff climb and forest fight — with coins to collect along the route. When the hero falls, a revive prompt appears; decline it and the stage restarts from the village.

Objective and input

How to Play

You begin at the village edge of stage one — there is no menu or level select. Hold the left or right arrow at the bottom-left to move, tap the up arrow at the bottom-right to jump, and tap the fist button to punch. Wooden signs mark the route: right arrows point forward, up arrows mark climbing spots. Push through to the pine forest and punch the ninja bandits while watching the green health bar at the top-left. If it empties, you choose between reviving or restarting the stage from the village.

Desktop Controls

Hold the on-screen left/right arrows with the mouse to move; click the up-arrow button to jump and the fist button to punch — the portal maps mouse presses onto the same touch controls.

Mobile Controls

Hold the bottom-left arrow pad to run left or right.

Tap the up-arrow button at the bottom-right to jump; combine jump with a held direction to climb ledges.

Tap the fist button to punch enemies.

What stands out

Features

01

Instant action start

No menus or level select: the game opens directly at the village start of stage one and hands you control immediately.

02

Punch-first combat

A dedicated fist button with white hit sparks on impact; ninja bandits in the pine forest fight back and drain your health bar.

03

Signposted platforming

Wooden signs with right, up and coin marks guide route finding across the cliff and layered platforms.

04

Full-run stakes

Falling in battle offers a revive prompt; declining it restarts the stage from the village, so every attempt is a complete run.

Gameplay Tips

  1. 1

Hold a direction while tapping jump to clear the cliff at the end of the village — a standing jump is not enough.

  2. 2

The green bar at the top-left is your health; standing still and trading punches with the forest bandits costs roughly half of it.

  3. 3

Coin gains come from pickups along the route, such as the climbing section — in testing, punching enemies awarded none.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a menu or level select?

What happens when my hero falls?

A revive prompt appears. If you decline it, the stage restarts from the village starting point.

How do I earn coins?

Coins are picked up along the route, for example while climbing the cliff section. In testing, punching enemies did not award coins.

Does the game save my progress?

No checkpointing was observed: reloading the page or restarting after falling both return to the village start of stage one.
